Here's a recipe my grandmother passed down to me and is still one of my favs! (great for those that aren't big on the 'rabbit food', aka veggies)
Easy Vegetable Casserole
4 cans mixed veggies
2 cans sliced water chestnuts
2 onions (small, finely diced)
2 cups mild cheddar
2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups crushed cheese crackers (Cheez-its)
Mix all but crackers together in a casserole dish. Sprinkle crushed cheese crackers on top. Bake at 350 until bubbly, about 20 minutes.
(serves 2-4)

I was given this recipe by a very dear friend of mine named Susan. It sounded good so I thought I would share it.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds small potatoes, cut into wedges
3 tablespoons olive oil
Sea salt
Freshly ground pepper
1 lime
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees (oven rack in the middle).
In a medium bowl toss the potato wedges with the olive oil, a few big pinches of sea salt, and five or six cranks of the pepper grinder. Arrange the potatoes cut side down on a baking sheet. Place in the oven for 30-35 minutes, tossing the potatoes with a metal spatula half way through.
While the potatoes are baking, cut the lime into wedges.
When the potatoes are cooked through, remove them from the oven, taste, and adjust the seasoning. Add more salt and pepper to taste (don't skimp on the pepper!).
Serve in a big shallow bowl, or on a platter, drizzled with lime juice and dusted with Parmesan.
Serves 4 - 6.

State to charge some a fee for child support Federal law requires $25 annual charge to help offset the costs of Michigan and U.S. collection services.
Kim Kozlowski / The Detroit News
An estimated 213,000 Michigan families who rely on child support will begin paying an annual $25 fee to help fund state and federal collections starting in September.
The new fee is required by the Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005.
Families who have ever relied on public assistance won't have to pay the fees. Also exempt will be those who depend on food stamps or get less than $500 annually in child support. Those who don't fit the exemptions -- about 28 percent of families that are receiving child support -- will pay the fee in September after $500 in child support has been dispersed...

This is a excerpt from the blog of Lary Holland, who makes some very good points on Senate Bill 08-183. It reads, in part... Reform, or is it?
On May 29, 2008, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter signed Senate Bill 08-183 Concerning the Effect of DNA Evidence On Child-Related Orders. The act will take effect on August 15, 2008. Under prior Colorado law once a paternity judgement or final orders in a divorce had been entered regarding child support a man was required to continue paying regardless of what later genetic evidence revealed.
Getting some relief for paternity fraud victims in Colorado has been a six-year struggle and has resulted in twelve EJF newsletters on the topic of Condoning Slavery Under Color of Law.
State Senator Shawn Mitchell deserves much credit for sponsoring this bill and getting it through the Colorado Senate. We have been Read More...

3 Important Court Rulings for Dads; Judge Strikes Blow to Restraining Order Abuses
June 30th, 2008 by Glenn Sacks
There were three interesting court decisions this week related to fatherhood--one bad and two good.
On the bad side, the New Jersey Supreme Court opened the door for alimony for the mistress. The court ruled that a couple does not have to live together in order for one partner to sue the other for palimony after a breakup. In the case, a woman who had been a married man's mistress for 20 years but had never lived with him or had a child by him was demanding alimony.
I do believe that alimony is appropriate under certain circumstances, such as when one parent has made substantial career sacrifices in order to be the primary caregiver for the couple's children, and upon divorce their incomes are very unequal because of these sacrifices. This case, however, goes well beyond that--no kids, no real sacrifices, etc. While the woman in this case apparently isn't going to win her bid for Read More...
