Cooking Salmon in a Dishwasher
It may sound crazy, but it's true. You can look past the oven to your dishwasher to provide tonight's dinner. Your dishwashing machine provides the perfect environment for poaching salmon.
Things You'll Need: - salmon fillets
- aluminum foil
- a lemon
- a few butter pats
- electric dishwasher
Place the fish on two large sheets of aluminum foil. Squeeze on some lemon juice and place the pats of butter on the salmon fillets. Seal the fillets well in the foil, and place the foil packet in the top wire basket of your electric dishwasher. DO NOT ADD SOAP OR DETERGENT. Close the dishwasher door, set the dishwasher on the hottest wash cycle, complete with drying cycle, and let it run through a full cycle. When the cycle is complete the fish will be cooked just right. Let the salmon cool a bit and enjoy.
Don't have a dishwasher? You can also bake the foil-wrapped packets in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 12 minutes.

Start your engines and get ready to carbecue!
Steps
- Plan the right meal for the trip. If you're not going to be taking a trip anyway, engine block cooking is probably the most expensive way to cook anything, so don't plan a trip just to cook. Instead cook a dish that fits your trip. Cooking on your car's engine is essentially the same as braising food, and cooking times are generally a bit longer than in a conventional oven and shorter than in a slow cooker. If you're taking a long road trip, you can cook just about anything--roasts, complete meals with Potato side dishes,
